Too many a time, we find ourselves facing the computer screen for absurdly long hours. Facing the computer for all of your office hours, not only bring pain to the eyes, but more often than not wreck the rest of your body, simply because you have been sitting in the same position all the time on that, possibly, uncomfortable chair of yours.

By nature, if you feel an itch on your back, you (subconsciously or consciously) reach your hand to the back and start scratching that itch. However, when one is working, he/she is focused on completing the work at hand and do not notice the signals the body is showing. And if ignored for too long, it will bring about detrimental problems to the body. Sitting for too long in the same position will promise you with stiffness in the back and shoulders. Even typing for extensive periods of time will cause aches in your wrist and fingers. Thus it is important to take breaks between every 2-3 hour period rather than just staying focused on just doing work and ignoring what is happening to your body, only finally realizing at the end of the day. But by that time it is too late already, you will go back home with aching back muscles and stiff shoulders, and then resorting to home remedies or maybe just a simple massage. If you do not even remedy it and just continue trudging along day by day in the very same condition, it is just going to build up and cause really serious health problems in the end.

My routine is to get up and stretch whenever I need to take a break. So go ahead and create your own routine. Share this with your colleagues and friends.
